Nipîy Tu Research and Knowledge Centre (NTRKC) is excited to announce a significant milestone in its journey: the appointment of our first Executive Director, Tammy Riel.
Tammy will be transitioning into her role as Executive Director of NTRKC from her current role as CEO of Fort Chipewyan Métis Nation in March 2024. This strategic decision marks a significant step forward in NTRKC's mission to advance Indigenous-led research, improve, promote and preserve the ecological integrity of the Peace-Athabasca Delta (PAD), and contribute to the health and vibrancy of the traditional ways of life of those that live in and rely on the PAD.
Tammy’s two-decade career in senior leadership, connection to the people of Fort Chipewyan and her roots deeply embedded in Métis heritage, well equip her to lead NTRKC toward global recognition as a pillar of research and guardianship of the PAD.
