Our Mission

Improve, promote and preserve the ecological integrity of the Peace-Athabasca Delta and to contribute to the health and vibrancy of the traditional ways of life of the Indigenous communities that rely on the Peace-Athabasca Delta through the coordination and implementation of open and transparent research, knowledge translation, capacity-building and support for cultural and community-based economic activities.

Our Vision

Ensure the preservation, protection, and promotion of ecological and cultural sustainability in the Peace-Athabasca Delta, through Indigenous-led ecological research, planning, monitoring, and stewardship. Under the guidance of Nipîy Tu Research & Knowledge Centre, traditional ways of life in the Peace-Athabasca Delta will be preserved through the use of Indigenous Knowledge and western science to monitor, study, and report on the region’s ecological health.
